Natural Communities Native Plants

March 31, Tuesday is the Early-bird ordering deadline for discounts. Kankakee County Soil and Water Conservation District

Many native flowers have beautiful blooms that attract birds, butterflies and other wildlife. We hope you will give natives a try! Orders are due on April 14th. Plants will be available for pick-up on Saturday May 30th from 9-1 at the Kankakee County Soil and Water Conservation District Office at 685 Larry Power Road in Bourbonnais. Most plants will be 2 ¼ inch plugs or in 2 ½ inch small pots. It is anticipated that additional species and extra plants may be available for purchase on the day of pick-up.

The preserve's main entrance is on Buckley Road (Route 137), just east of Milwaukee Avenue (Route 21), and west of River Road. Pets are not permitted in the preserve.

There are no pre-orders available. Rain Barrels and Compost Bins are available for purchase on Saturday only.
